Barack Obama: The American Gorbachev PDF Print E-mail
Written by Dr. Miklos K. Radvanyi
Thursday, 25 September 2008
Obama, like Gorbachev in the Soviet Union of the 1980s, appears to be the ideal agent of change and hope for every person who believes that a super-natural  and a supra-national politician is able to deliver more of everything.  Obama apologizes for America’s prosperity, liberty and greatness.  Obama also wants to redistribute the wealth to his partisans as a reward for their support of him both at home and abroad.  And his opposition to the military and to business, and his promotion of an omnipotent government, buttresses his claim of breaking with the political and economic order of the United States of America.

But, as Gorbachev did in the 1980s in the Soviet Union, cynical manipulation of disappointments with the political and the economic conditions in the United States, do not justify the vile demagoguery about the "failed Bush Presidency," "Wall Street as opposed to Main Street," "racist America," "right wing conspiracies," or the benign neglect for Iran, international terrorism, Russia and other threats facing the United States of America and the rest of the world.

Pelosi's and Obama's so-called Energy Bill is actually a Lethargy Bill PDF Print E-mail
Written by George Landrith
Thursday, 18 September 2008
Under cover of darkness, Nancy Pelosi and her allies in Congress passed what they have the hubris to call an energy bill. The truth is, it is a lethargy bill, not an energy bill. In short, it is a cruel hoax. Pelosi and her allies in the House and the effective head of her party, presidential candidate Barack Obama, have been consistently anti-energy.

These folks abandoned Washington during the summer rather than deal with the energy problem. Nancy Pelosi vowed she would never allow drilling. Barack argued against drilling and said that America would save more than we could hope to get from drilling if only we inflated our tires. Now these same people want Americans to believe they have passed an energy bill. The truth is -- the Pelosi-Obama Lethargy Bill is a sham and a fraud and it will do nothing to help solve America's energy woes.

Contact your government about American energy production PDF Print E-mail

ACTION  ALERT:

YOUR ACTION REQUIRED ON OR BEFORE SEPTEMBER 15 !

Let your voice be heard. Now's the time to let the federal government know we need greater access to America's energy resources. Comments are due no later than September 15, 2008.

Skyrocketing energy prices illustrate the need to increase offshore oil and natural gas production on America's outer continental shelf (OCS). The United States is the only developed nation in the world to restrict access to its offshore energy resources. In fact, only 3 percent of all offshore acreage has been leased for energy production. This must change.

The U.S. Minerals Management Service (or MMS, the federal agency in charge of oil and natural gas leasing) is currently soliciting public comments about whether to expand exploration and production of America's offshore energy resources.

The Criminal, Corrupt and Kleptomaniac State of Russia PDF Print E-mail
Written by Miklos K. Radvanyi

The catastrophic history of the by now moribund Russian civilization remains the most striking and convincing proof of the destructive relationship between the baseless immorality and the lawless imperialism of both the state and the individual.  Lawless imperialism gave the Russians and the world the autocracy and the orthodoxy of Muscovy, the imperial vainglory of the Russian Empire, the total political failure of the Soviet Union, and recently the bogus democracy of the post-Soviet hybrid of the 21st century Russia.  Baseless immorality, rooted in Byzantine Christianity, sowed the seeds of irreligion, nihilism, fatalism, disunity, violence, apathy, and repeated collapse of civil society.  The result of these combined forces is the Russian peoples, their society and their state of today.

We need a real energy policy PDF Print E-mail

Frontiers of Freedom released the following by its president, George Landrith:

"America needs a broad-based energy plan. For the past 30 years, we have primarily relied on foreign oil for our energy needs. We must expand and diversify our energy portfolio. The Pickens Plan is an important part of a broad based energy plan. We need to drill and produce more of our own American energy. We should be drilling in the outer continental shelf and in ANWR -- now. We also need to develop our natural gas resources. We need to develop wind and solar technology. We need to use nuclear technology and we need to use coal. We need to create an environment in which research and development efforts explode and bring new energy technologies to the marketplace. The Pickens Plan correctly highlights that we need to stop merely repeating the short-sighted mistakes of the last 30 years and begin implementing innovative, but proven technologies that work both practically and economically – while at the same time we develop the next generation of energy technology."

Millions can relate to Palin PDF Print E-mail
Written by George Landrith

John McCain’s VP choice was already the fastest-breaking curveball American politics had seen in a generation before this Reuters report:
“The 17-year-old daughter of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is pregnant, Palin said on Monday in an announcement intended to knock down rumors by liberal bloggers that Palin faked her own pregnancy to cover up for her child.”
“Faked” pregnancies. Teen sex. Government cover-ups. It’s like a bad episode of “Desperate Housewives,” except Gov. Palin is much hotter than Marcia Cross.

And she’s been the nominee for less than a week.

For normal people who don’t surf the fever swamps of the DailyKos and other liberal Web sites, the reference to faking a pregnancy has to do with a story invented by some lefty blogger that Trig Palin - Sarah’s newborn son who has Down syndrome - is actually the illegitimate son of the governor’s oldest daughter.

This idiotically offensive slur was demonstrably false - it took me less than 60 seconds to find a photo of a painfully-pregnant Gov. Palin from earlier this year - but pro-Obama activists like Andrew Sullivan and even some mainstream media outlets jumped on it.

Energy Plans: Barack Obama, Paris Hilton And Billy Madison PDF Print E-mail
Written by George Landrith

When I first saw the McCain campaign ad that showed footage of Paris Hilton, Britney Spears and Barack Obama and made the point that celebrity status and popularity do not mean someone is prepared to lead the nation, I thought it made a valid point, but was perhaps a little unsporting. I admit that Obama is unprepared to lead the United States. But on the other hand, Obama didn't rise to fame because of paparazzi pictures of him out on the town drinking without underwear. However, it turns out I was wrong. The ad was actually unfair to Paris Hilton.

Despite her frivolous reputation, it turns out that Paris Hilton may be better prepared to lead the nation than Obama. For example, her energy plan, recently released in an online video response to the McCain ad actually made more sense than Obama's plan and he has more than 300 advisors and experts helping him. Paris Hilton began her energy plan with drilling for more oil in the United States.

Remembering Hungarian Prime Minister Imre Nagy and his Associates on the 50th Anniversary of their Execution

In this year, on the 50th anniversary of his death, we pay tribute to the memory of Imre Nagy, Prime Minister of Hungary during the heroic uprising of 1956 and his martyred associates. As many of us still recall, Imre Nagy led the revolutionary government that took the first steps toward a free and independent, pluralistic Hungary, until the savage retaliation of Soviet Forces quashed the popular revolution leaving thousands of innocents dead.

Following the bloody suppression of the revolution, Imre Nagy sought refuge in the Embassy of Yugoslavia in Budapest. Tricked out by false assurances of amnesty, he was arrested and imprisoned before being tried and executed by the Soviet-installed Kadar regime along with several of his closest colleagues. He and the other martyrs of the revolution were ignominiously buried in prison graves, bundled in tarred paper, face down. His writings and name were banished from usage, his memory submerged beneath the weight of Soviet domination.

Letter to Senate warning of huge stealth climate tax PDF Print E-mail

United States Senate
U.S. Capitol
Washington, DC 20002

Dear Senator:

We the undersigned write to urge you to reject legislation that imposes regulations on American energy usage through a so-called “cap-and-trade” provision in a vain attempt to change global average temperatures.

The underlying assumption of such legislation – that we are experiencing catastrophic, anthropogenic global warming – is highly questionable. It is important to note that temperature data show there has been no warming trend in more than a decade, and now even many climate change alarmists admit that there will be no additional warming in the coming decade, and that we may in fact see a cooling trend.  We believe that a 20-year period with no warming -- despite record CO2 emissions – is a clear refutation of earlier alarmist predictions that should give policymakers pause. Many climate change alarmists dismiss this 20-year period of stable or cooling temperatures as being attributable to natural climate variability. If that is the case, why wouldn’t the warming trend that apparently stopped or reversed itself in the mid-1990s, also be attributable to natural climate variability?  Are we seriously to believe that all cooling is natural, but all warming is man-made?

A Perfect Storm PDF Print E-mail

Contrary to conventional wisdom, the enduring malaise of Lebanon is not rooted in the religious differences of the “Shi’ism” of Hetzbollah, the “Sunni’ism” of the rest of the Muslims and the “Christianity” of the Maronites. Neither is the war among these three constituent communities of the country merely a proxy war between Iranians and Arabs. Finally, the alleged incompatibilities between modernity and Islamic traditions, democracy and xenophobic Islamic fundamentalism do not have significant bearing on the current situation.
